Compare the Data by periods of time

Are you asking yourself- why there were more conversions in June than in July? Why your ad is clicked more frequently on Mondays than Saturdays? Wondering, maybe there is some tool to compare this? Then No Need to wonder anymore, Because Google has introduced one new feature in AdWords by which you can easily compare the data date-wise.

So, to take pleasure of this astounding feature, follow the following given steps:

  • Sign in to your AdWords account at https://adwords.google.com.
  • Click the Campaigns tab.
  • Click the down arrow in the date range in the upper right corner of your screen.
     
  •  Make sure the “Compare dates” option in set to “ON”.
  • In the top section of the menu, select the date range you’re interested in. Then, in the section below “Compare dates” select whether you’d like to compare the “previous period” or the “same period last year” or create a custom comparison.
  • If you select custom, you’ll be prompted to enter a specific date range. 
  • Click “Go”.          
  • Next you’ll see results for both time periods charted in your performance graph.
  • To see the comparison metrics in your statistics table, you’ll need to click on the “+” icon that has now appeared in each of your column headers. Doing so will expand a column to in show four columns: the current time period, the previous time period, the numerical change between the two periods, and the percentage change. 
Once you chose a time period, both alone and as part of a comparison, those dates apply across your account (until you change them).  

The “compare dates” feature is useful for comparing performance across two time periods, but not more than two. For example, if you want to look at performance per day over the last month, it’s better to use segments tab.
